Wintringham Primary Academy is part of The Diamond Learning Partnership Trust. A unique, timber building with a central woodland grove provides an inspirational learning environment.
The school provides a hub for the community, with facilities available to use out of school hours.
Wintringham’s first local hub will bring together key facilities and spaces. It will include a shop, café/restaurant, nursery, gym, library and community centre as well as a public square area for community gatherings. The second phase of the District Centre will also include a health centre, and space for new businesses.
Here you’ll find community gatherings, seasonal events and a weekly line up of diverse food trucks.
Three large lakes provide important sustainable drainage for the development, as well as crucial climate resilience for the wider area. As they mature, they will fast become a haven for nature.
The new Jubilee Woodland – planted in the year of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and commemorating a lifetime of service – includes 500 new trees. Once complete, this
woodland will have over 5,750 trees including Oak, Beech, Silver Birch, Pines, Wild Cherry, Bird Cherry, Whitebeam and Small Leaved Lime.
The next phase, Phase 2, will include the next 800 homes, a new primary school, local facilities, and 54 acres of public green space including parks, play areas and sports pitches. The proposed green infrastructure is a mosaic of green spaces with varying character and purpose.
Wintringham’s historic brooks lie at the heart of our masterplan, providing links which form the basis of a network of routes to ensure people and wildlife can get about safely and explore the area around them.
Wintringham Brook has undergone an extensive refurbishment and has been opened up to support more vegetation and habitats for nature.
A (temporary) toddler play park provides equipment and play space for little ones.
The pocket park play area has a meandering play trail either side of the pathway to encourage ‘play on the way’, with wooden play equipment set in rolling grass shapes and ornamental trees. Picnic benches and seating overlook the play area, which is set within trees and natural planting.
Nestled amongst large pine trees, the play tower offers many ways to play, climbing to the top up ladders, ropes or netting gives tree canopy views, while log steppers and ornamental boulders set in a wave landform create more natural play experiences. All set within swaying ornamental grasses, with seating areas and space for pushchairs.
